Our Philosophy

What is an Interior Architect?

In Japan, generally, the person who designs a building is an architect, the person who designs the interior is an interior designer, and the person who coordinates the furniture, curtains, etc. within a given space is called an interior coordinator.

At RON DESIGN, we take an approach that is common overseas, but still very rare in Japan. We are interior architects, we are professionally qualified as architects, interior designers and coordinators. We can design the exterior shell of the building, plan the interior spaces, design the interior décor, and style and art direct the finishing touches. This benefits you because you deal with one designer and the project is designed holistically, not piecemeal by various specialists. This means all your needs and desires are incorporated in the design from the very outset and will create the home of your dreams.

One-stop servicefrom architectural design to interior design

The advantage of asking an interior architect to build your house is that the project can proceed with a consistent concept because the interior (interior design) and exterior (architectural design) are considered simultaneously from the beginning. There is no waste in the plan, and you can also set a budget for the interior in advance.

For example, walls are important for enjoying the interior, but instead of having too many windows, you can place them in a well-balanced manner in the right places. There will be no regrets like "If only the wall was a little longer, I could have put this furniture in," "I want to see this view, but the wall is in the way," or "I wish this pillar wasn't there." It is also possible to consider the size of the living room to fit the furniture you want to put in, create a structural design based on the size of the car you want to put in, and think about a detailed framework.

As interior architects we also understand how other architects think and work, so of course we can collaborate with other architects as interior designers to create a great space together.

A concept and design thatis in tune with your life

A concept and design thatis in tune with your life

We ask lots of questions and listen to and absorb your answers. What kind of personality do you have? What do you like? What kind of life have you lived so far? What do you want to do in the future? What kind of space will make you feel the happiest? We draw out a concept from thorough interviews and incorporate it into the design. Creating a home that perfectly fits your life down to the last detail is like ordering custom-made clothes or shoes, rather than ready-made clothing. RON DESIGN believes that the ultimate luxury space is one that is totally in tune with your life.
