ゴールデンウィークが終わって、気づけばもう2週間が経ちました。日常のリズムが戻る中、今週は予告していた通り、「ジム・トンプソン」のショールームを訪れたときのお話をしたいと思います。
ジム・トンプソンのショールームは、バンコクの中心部、アクセスの良いエリアに位置しています。こちらがその外観。
1〜2階にはクッションや小物類が並び、観光客がひっきりなしに出入りしています。
しかし、その上階には、私たちのようなインテリアや建築の専門家だけが入場を許される特別な空間が広がっています。
そのショールームが、まさに圧巻でした。
流行色であるグリーンとコーラル（サンゴ色）を巧みに組み合わせた空間や、シノワズリの要素を取り入れた華やかな部屋など、それぞれの空間には明確なテーマがあり、ジム・トンプソンのファブリックが惜しみなく使われています。素材の豊かさ、色の重なり、そして大胆でありながら洗練されたデザインに、ただただ感嘆するばかりでした。
バンコクでの滞在中、このショールームを訪れたことで、私は心から「お腹いっぱい」と感じるほどのインスピレーションを得ることができました。ジム・トンプソンは、これからも私のデザインに欠かせない、大切なブランドの一つになると思います。

A Beautiful World of Design in Bangkok
It’s already been two weeks since the Golden Week holidays ended. As life returns to normal, I’d like to share my visit to the Jim Thompson showroom in Bangkok.
The showroom is in a very convenient area in central Bangkok. The first and second floors have many cushions and small items, and lots of tourists come and go. But above those floors, there is a special showroom where only professionals like us are allowed to enter.
This space was really beautiful.
Each room had a clear theme, such as a stylish mix of green and coral colours, or a Chinese-inspired design. Jim Thompson fabrics were used in a very rich and creative way. The colours, the textures, and the whole design of each space were very impressive.
During my stay in Bangkok, this visit was one of the highlights. I felt full of inspiration after seeing so many beautiful designs. Jim Thompson is a brand I would love to use again in my future work.
